detail is everything
The idea of eating a more, mostly or all plant diet may feel like a chore. But we know plants, we love plants and make our meals in a way that lets their natural flavours flourish when heated up in your home, at work or wherever the day takes you.
That means, dry-toasting all our spices to round out their flavours. Hiding an umami punch in every dish. Slowly caramelising our onions at the base of every sauce for sweetness and depth. And experimenting with ingredients like miso, kimchi and harissa to add complexity in every mouthful.
Enjoy our meals delivered or try recreating our dishes at home with recipes available on every dish. Our chefs also share recipes on our Youtube channel, Instagram and on our blog.
Never question what’s for dinner again. Whether you’re feasting on allplants daily or using our meals to compliment your cooking (or takeaway habit!), keep your dishes chilling in the freezer, so you’re always ready to win the day.
Keeping your ingredients and meal prep in the freezer locks in the goodness, helping you nourish fully and fight food waste with every mouthful. All our meals are delivered to your door frozen, ready to eat on your schedule.
Freezing is the best and most natural preservative on our planet.
Not all fruit and veg we eat is equal. Your meal prep will last a few days in the fridge, but making the most of your freezer will lock in the vitamins and minerals for months. Frozen fruit and veg - just like fresh - count towards your 5 a day, but as we’ve learnt above, not all fruit and veg we consume is equal.
We even freeze some of the ingredients in our recipes within hours of harvesting - usually at peak season, when veg is at its best and most nutritious. This helps maximise the nutrition and flavour in every bite. While fresh ingredients are often picked to ripen in transit, fruits, grains and vegetables that are on-track to be quick frozen are harvested at their peak and frozen within 24-hours.
Fight food waste
Freezing our meals means less waste in your kitchen and ours. Put your freezer to good use and help fight food waste everyday.
Did you know? UK households throw away over 7 million tonnes of food each year, 4.4 of which is totally unavoidable. That’s a fifth of what we buy in the first place. It’s a real problem. Not only because that food could go to much better use, but also because it’s associated with a further 14 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions (source).
We’re committed to creating a zero waste production kitchen. Whenever we have extra ingredients or leftovers, we either use them for team lunches or share them within the local community through our partners Plan Zheroes and City Harvest. Our friends at Olio can help you do this at home. They connect you with neighbours and local shops so surplus food and other items can be shared, not thrown away.
All remaining peels, cores, ends and off-cuts from our fruit and veg are sent to a London-based recycling plant. There they are broken down through incineration, and the energy created in the process is captured for use on the grid. So technically, our veg is electric.
Our meals are totally plant-based, made from real, whole food ingredients, which naturally deliver a wide range of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Full nutritional information is available for every dish by clicking on the image tiles above or at any stage while you shop.
Here’s the skinny. Along with other brilliant benefits, each serving will give you:
- 2 or more of your 5 a day
- A source (plus more) of iron
- A source (plus more) of vitamin C
- A source of protein
To ensure every dish is packed with flavour, texture and nutrition, each meal is typically made up of:
- 4 or more types of fruit or veg
- 2 types of grains or legumes
- A hero ingredient that defines the dish (think Jackfruit, Kimchi or King Oyster Mushroom)
- A slow-cooked sauce that adds depth and delight
- A beautiful garnish as a feast for your eyes
Calories and Macronutrients: Balance is key
There are 400-600 calories in each meal, helping you reach an average of 512 Kcal per meal - perfect for your lunch or evening bites.
We ensure a good balance of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in every serving, with full nutritional information available for every dish - simply click on the image tiles above or at any stage while you shop.
Our meals bust the plant-based protein myth. Each meal contains between 14-30g of protein per serving and is considered a source of protein according to the EU guidelines (more info here).
Sugar: every meal is low in sugar
We know you care about your sugar intake and we do too, that’s why every allplants meal is low in sugar. This means there are no more than 5g of sugars per 100g. Where possible our products have no added sugar. Instead, we use ingredients like mangoes, apples or oranges in its place, while in a few meals we use a small measure of brown sugar or molasses.
Salt: 1/3 of your daily recommended intake
Our meals provide around a third of your recommended daily salt intake. As 1 of 3 of your meals a day, we’re happy with the amount of salt our meals deliver, without the need to compromise on flavour. Of course, you may like to add a little more salt for flavour - that’s totally up to you.
No-added nasties: GMO and Palm Oil free
We agree that ingredients lists should be made up of easily recognised, simple ingredients, so we don’t use any of the following in our meals:
- Hydrogenated and trans fats
- Artificial colours or flavours
- Palm Oil
- GMO ingredients*
- Additives such as maltodextrin or monosodium glutamate
*Everyone has a right to know exactly what they put into their bodies. While details on the exact content, and impact of, GMO ingredients remain clouded - we have decided on a 100% Non-GMO policy. We verify compliance by obtaining certificates of acquisition from each supplier, for every single ingredient.
We started allplants to promote health and happiness for people and planet. By making plant-based eating easier, healthier and more delicious for everyone, it’s our intention to promote your health and restore our beautiful planet as much as possible.
Everything we do is underpinned by thoughtful curation and consideration of research and possibilities. If there is something you’d like to know more about or you’d like to question any decision we’ve made, please do get in touch here. Healthy discussion of these big topics is an important part of helping people and planet thrive. There isn’t always an easy answer.
Eat more plants
We want to help you eat more, mostly or all plants with healthy, delicious and easy meals, recipes and tips. Bringing mindfulness to how we nourish our bodies isn’t just about improving our personal health. Switching to a plant-based diet is the most impactful way to reduce your environmental footprint and with only ¼ of Brits getting their 5-a-day, we’re here to help.
From fashion to fuel to our food, what we each consume has a huge impact on the health of our planet. We each eat 3 times a day and the earth is creaking under the pressure of our enormous collective diet. By relying on animals as a core part of humanity’s global diet, we are:
- Using up 38% of all ice-free land (UN FAO)
- Using 92% more water to get the calories we need (compared to vegan diet) by channeling up to 33% of all freshwater globally into animal agriculture (source)
- Contributing 18% of annual worldwide gas emissions (UN FAO)
- Wasting 2,700 million hectares of pasture and 100 million hectares of cropland, which would otherwise be completely freed up (link)
In fact, if animal agriculture was a country it would rank third in greenhouse gas emissions. (UNFCCC)
We can radically reduce these staggering numbers by making our food choices as plant-based as possible.

We're building a smart value chain
Replacing animal products with plants is the most impactful dietary shift anyone can make to improve planetary health. As allplants grows, we intend to play a big role in helping reduce instances where there is a reliance on animals for sustenance. The biggest barriers to this and levers for change are taste, convenience and affordability.
Finding a balance between each of these change levers is a challenge we continue to address iteratively as we grow. Ultimately, we’re fixated on building planetary positive solutions across the board.
Example: we currently prepare and cook over 1000 kg of fresh fruit and veg each day. Making efforts to ensure we source these ingredients responsibly, while building healthier communities at scale, is incredibly important to the mission we’re on.
It may be seem better for the planet if all our ingredients were local and/or organic, but this would limit people’s ability to purchase and slow down the adoption of a more plant-based diet, which ultimately has a bigger impact on our planet’s health.
A recent study found that when a local-only omnivorous diet is compared to a globally-sourced vegan diet, the latter contributes 2.35 fewer tonnes per year of CO2. That’s a saving of 25% per person each year, based on the UK average. You can find out more here.
Research, supplier management and clear environmental policies are therefore very important.
Currently 60% of our suppliers are within a 200 mile radius, with 15% of our ingredients UK-based, 60% grown in Europe and 25% outside Europe. We never air freight. 1 kilo of produce moved by air-freight has 100 x the climate impact compared with produce moved by sea-freight. This is because it takes a lot of energy to keep a plane in the air, but also because engine emissions do more damage at higher altitudes. [source: Berners-Lee, Mike. When it comes to sourcing ingredients, we’re working hard to:
- minimise the CO2 footprint of our supply chain
- promote healthy and sustainable local communities
- drive an improved approach to supplier selection within our industry and beyond
Sourcing smart means taking responsibility for who we work with and how they conduct themselves. All our suppliers are screened in depth before becoming part of allplants to ensure they promote sound working conditions and conduct their business in a manner which embraces sustainability. Our minimum requirements are that suppliers:
- Track and report on water and energy use
- Have environmental management policies and procedures in place regarding water, energy, hazardous materials, air quality and emissions, deforestation, waste, and other significant risks
- Provide us with full transparency on environmental performance and working conditions
Eco-packaging + delivery
Packaging is a tricky business. Ideally, we’d use zero packaging or any used would be organically made and infinitely reusable. We’re not there yet.
Today, our packaging is 100% recyclable, partly compostable and mostly reusable. We even provide a free returns label in your order so you can send your delivery packaging back to us for reuse. We will always make every effort to put our planet first, even when it’s not the most profitable option.
Delivery-wise, we also made the considered decision to partner with DPD, a carbon-neutral fulfilment company to mitigate any emissions associated with your delivery.
